apprenticeships

Our well established apprenticeship schemes (general construction (GC) and plant operative (PO)), are aimed at school leavers and young people and are an ideal way to earn, learn and work at the same time.

All of our training is conducted at our own accredited training centre in North Wales by highly experienced and qualified staff. Our trainers have all served many years on our sites as plant operatives, skilled construction operatives and supervisors and understand what it takes to support an inexperienced apprentice as they develop into a valuable member of the team.

Our objective is to develop well rounded individuals with skills enabling them to cope with the dynamic construction industry. In addition to the core modules of the scheme, our apprenticeship schemes have been designed to provide all participants with a complete range of transferable skills and qualifications. This has proven to result in highly employable individuals many of which go on to secure permanent employment with us long after their apprenticeship ends.

Progression

Successful apprentices will have the opportunity for full time employment with us upon completion of their apprenticeship as plant operatives and general construction operatives. Apprentices who complete the GC full competence programme and who can demonstrate drive and enthusiasm and commitment can progress to their level 3 qualifications.

Subject to achieving the relevant qualifications, there may be an opportunity to join our engineering training scheme working towards becoming a site engineer and completing a HNC or HND in civil engineering.

Many of our past apprentices have progressed to be supervisors, foremen, and works and construction managers heading up teams delivering multi-million pound civil engineering schemes across the country.
